Preto no branco, a aventura de Sábado aos olhos de um amigo que também lá esteve.
This weekend I went to Bilene with a group of friends. We crossed the lagoon by boat to a beach close to an old lodge (it was not Girassol) and a beautiful cliff.
After an hour there, four local guys came with a gun and we were robbed.
One of the girls from our group was pointed a gun, threatened to death and the robber even shot close to her ear twice as she opposed to give him her backpack. We afterwards tried to contact the local police station to search for the robbers. A policeman came with some of the members of our group in a car of another friend of ours and they searched for them. Thankfully no one was harmed. They found one person which we later came to know they freed that very same night. After a certain point, the police did no effort to search for our belongings although the house of the robbers was known. This seemed a bit strange to us and made us think of the possibility of a connection between the police and the robbers. We were told to get back there on Monday (today) to fill in the register. That night we remained in Bilene until 12 in the evening. A close friend of mine, a professional mechanic, had to come from Maputo to unlock the driving wheels of our two cars and to make a direct ignition. We arrived in Maputo at 3:30 am after an unfortunate flat tire in one of our cars.
As I also lost my cell phone, I will not be answering any cell phone calls until I get a new chip, which should be only next week. I will still be reachable through my email.
Please be careful if you are thinking of going to that area . Try to take as less valuable items as possible like money, documents, cell phones, fancy items, car keys, etc. And be sure to have a B plan for any of those items, etc should something like this happen to you.
Ao ler sobre o nariz de Cleópatra lembro-me que Daniel Boorstin escreveu que se ele tivesse sido mais pequeno a história do mundo seria diferente. Fica por saber se a história de sábado também teria sido diferente. Algures nas seis horas que tivemos de esperar junto aos carros, enquanto outros perseguiam os ladrões, também nós transformámos dúvidas em certezas.
Se não tivéssemos ido ao morro, se não tivesse deixado de beber, se não tivesses nascido…
Sábado no Bilene, fomos assaltados com tudo aquilo a que temos direito, inclusive tiros de pistola, regressámos e fomos atrás com tudo aquilo a que temos direito, inclusive polícia e mais tiros de pistola, ficámos sem chaves dos carros, sem documentos, sem telemóveis e sem máquina digitais, mas conseguimos, depois de fazermos ligação directa, trazer os carros chegar a Maputo. Pelo caminho deixámos um carro com um pneu rebentado. Com tempo e paciência talvez relate, nos próximos dias, um pouco mais do fim de semana que ainda não acabou.
Agora que o meu antigo blogue deixou de aparecer nos resultados do google está na altura de mudar de novo. Dia 12 volto a mudar o template e mudo também o conceito. Até lá, dia 12, hei-de criar outro blogue, outro nome, outro conceito. O problema de já estar em modo de despedida é querer despedir-me de tudo, começar de novo, meter os quilómetros a zero e arrancar.
Saíram de Pemba de Madrugada. Há duas horas, 8h30, estavam em Nampula e contam chegar amanhã à Beira. No sábado, se correr bem, estaremos juntos em Inhambane.

3 of us gathered at the studio to enjoy both versions to discover that though they recorded separate versions, they recorded in the same key at the same time….After a session with Adobe Audition 1.5 we created a new mixdown track of the song that until now has never been heard…it is both enveloping and haunting…the best of Leonard and Jennifer…the video was finally produced at 4:00 in the morning
